Gas Lift - Quick Fix Service Guide
Quick fix / maintenance guide
During use and aging, the properties of a gas lift change. Typical symptoms include sluggish movement or the chair lifting by itself when not in use.
The main cause is a lack of cleaning and lubrication, especially if the chair height is rarely adjusted.
Below are a few simple steps that can help restore the gas lift’s performance. This applies both for regular maintenance and as a quick fix for reduced functionality.
Step 1:
- Set the chair in its highest position.
- Use a rag or cloth to remove dirt and old grease from the gas lift.
- Apply a thin layer of new grease.

Step 2:
- Release the lift using the adjustment handle.
- Lower and raise the lift completely about 10 times, while keeping the handle released the entire time. Keep pulling the height adjustment handle upward throughout the process.

Lubricant:
Any soap-based grease may be used. If necessary, a compatible lubricant is also available on our website:

Still not working?
If the quick fix guide did not resolve the issue and your gas lift is more than 10 years old, it may be worth replacing it.
Over time, gas lifts wear out and may no longer function properly, even after cleaning and lubrication.
