HÅG Creed 6006 · High back · Fully upholstered

Support all the way to the shoulders.

At a glance

The tallest standard Creed

Everything structural is shared across the range. What the 6006 adds is 75 mm more backrest than the 6004 — enough to carry the shoulders rather than stop at the shoulder blades — and the option of a headrest above that.

Shared with every other Creed: seat height 40–55 cm on the standard 150 mm gas lift, seat depth adjustable 39–49 cm, seat width 440 mm, five-star aluminium base Ø730 mm, 15° forward / 16° back tilt lockable in three positions, maximum user weight 110 kg.

The range

All six Creed models

One chassis, six backrests. Seat, base, mechanism, options and fabrics are shared — the backrest height and how it is covered are the whole difference.

The decision

Is the 6006 the right Creed for you?

Six models, one chassis. The only things that change are how high the backrest goes and how it is upholstered — so the choice is narrower than it looks.

Choose the 6006

  • You want support at shoulder height, all day
  • You lean back to think or to take calls
  • You want the option of a headrest
  • You want the back upholstered on both sides — it faces the room
  • You require EN 1335 class Ax certification

This page →

Consider the 6005

  • Nearly the same height — 555 mm against 585 mm
  • Partly upholstered: the outer back shell stays exposed
  • Costs less, because there is less upholstery
  • The trade is the view from behind

Look at the 6005 →

Consider the 6056

  • 5 mm taller back, and an extra layer of foam throughout
  • The only Creed with a wider 450 mm seat
  • The one to pick for genuinely long days
  • No SHORT seat, so no route to class Ax

Look at the 6056 →

Below the 6006 sit the 6004 (medium back, fully upholstered — the default choice), the 6003 (medium back, partly upholstered) and the 6002 (low back, the lightest). Every fabric, base finish and option is available on every model.

How it works

Three ideas, none of which hold you still

HÅG inBalance® — movement, not posture

The pivot sits under the middle of the seat rather than at its front edge, so the chair tilts 15° forward and 16° back around you as you move. It follows small shifts of weight instead of resisting them: legs stay active, circulation keeps going, and you are not pressing against a rigid back for eight hours. Lockable in three positions if you prefer it still.

The 4-in-1 adjustment wheel

One wheel, within reach while seated, sets seat depth, backrest height and the forward and backward tilt resistance — each also adjustable on its own. It is why a Creed can be handed to a new colleague and set up in under a minute instead of explaining five levers.

HÅG SwingBack® armrests

An option on the standard height- and width-adjustable armrests: they swing back behind the backrest, so you can pull right under the desk edge, get in and out sideways, or turn to a colleague without the arms getting in the way.

On a Creed, leaning back is a working position rather than a break — the mechanism follows the weight shift instead of resisting it.

About that class Ax

EN 1335 class Ax is the stricter dimensional class of the European office-chair standard, and the 6006 is the only Creed that can meet it — but only when it is ordered with the SHORT 40 cm seat and 3D arm pads together. A standard 6006 is Type A, not class Ax. If the certificate is going into a tender response, say so when you order and we will specify it correctly; the SHORT seat itself costs nothing extra.

Materials

The fabric is the chair you touch

Because the 6006 is upholstered front and back, it carries more fabric than any Creed except the 6056 — which makes the covering the single biggest influence on both the price and how the chair ages.

  • Groups 1–2 — recycled polyesters and New Zealand wools: Xtreme, Cura Loop, Select. What most offices order.
  • Groups 3–4 — texture and depth: tweedy Capture, Norwegian Sirdal, Steelcut.
  • Groups 6–7 — chrome-free semi-aniline leathers: Paloma Soft, Elmosoft.
  • Wipeable — PUxx 1 and Illusion 3.0 are polyurethane-coated and can be disinfected; five-year fabric warranty rather than ten.

Every price in the configurator above updates live as you change the covering. See the full fabric overview before you decide.

Configuration

What to decide at order time

Most of this can be changed later. Two things cannot, comfortably: the gas lift and the foot ring.

HÅG Creed 6006 options
Option Worth knowing
Headrest Supports shoulders, neck and head. Black or silver, and it shares its cover with the HÅG Capisco. Can be retrofitted later.
Armrests, height- and width-adjustable The standard armrest, in black or silver. HÅG SwingBack® is ordered as an addition to it.
3D arm pads Add depth adjustment and rotation. Required together with the SHORT seat for class Ax.
SHORT seat A fixed 40 cm seat depth instead of the 39–49 cm range, at no extra cost. Worth it if the seat edge presses behind your knees.
Gas lift, 200 / 265 mm Decide now. The standard 150 mm lift gives 40–55 cm; 200 mm gives 47.5–66 cm for high or sit-stand desks; 265 mm is counter height. Changing it later is a service job.
HÅG FootRing, Ø450 mm Only orderable together with the 200 or 265 mm lift — it cannot be added to a chair on the standard lift.
Base finish Ø730 mm aluminium in black, silver, white, Blush Rose, Moss Grey or polished.
Castors, Ø65 mm Hard braked castors for soft floors are standard. Universal castors suit both floor types; all five must match.
HÅG StepUp / QuickStep Footrests for higher desks. StepUp has three levels and fits every gas lift; QuickStep is the rocking one.

The 6006 has no ESD version — that is only the 6002 and 6004. Accessories and replacement covers are in spare parts.

Standards and certification

  • EN 1335 Type A — the European dimensional and safety standard for office chairs.
  • EN 1335 class Ax — only with the SHORT seat and 3D arm pads fitted together.
  • NPR 1813-2016 — the Dutch practice guideline Dutch employers and health-and-safety services ask about.
  • GS mark (Geprüfte Sicherheit), tested by LGA / Intertek in Germany.
  • GREENGUARD Gold, Möbelfakta and the EU Ecolabel — indoor emissions, furniture quality and environmental performance. Ecolabel scope depends on configuration and fabric; ask us if you need it for a tender.

Environment

An independently verified Environmental Product Declaration is published for the Creed: 43.32 kg CO₂e per chair, 38.15 % recycled content by weight and 676 MJ of life-cycle energy. Those headline figures are measured on the 6004. The chair is made in Røros, Norway, in an ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 plant, comes apart without special tools, and every cover can be replaced — a chair reupholstered twice beats a chair replaced once by a wide margin.

Lead times

Every Creed is built to your specification after you order, so the fabric you choose sets the wait:

  • HÅG Quick-Ship — 15 working days. The 6006 is in the programme, with the Creed headrest, in selected Xtreme, Select and Paloma colours.
  • Standard collection — 20–25 working days.
  • Extended collection — 35 working days or more, depending on mill availability.

Indicative dispatch times from the factory; transport time comes on top.

Warranty

  • 10 years on the chair and accessories, in normal use up to nine hours a day.
  • 5 years above nine hours a day, and 5 years in 24/7 shift use with a fabric from the approved list.
  • 10 years on standard-collection fabrics and leathers, except polyurethane-coated ones (five years).

Covers parts against material and manufacturing defects; labour and travel are chargeable. Full terms on the warranty page. The chair arrives flat-packed and goes together in a few minutes — see the assembly instructions. Questions

HÅG Creed 6006 — frequently asked

What is the difference between the 6006 and the 6004?

Backrest height, and nothing else that matters. The 6004 has a 510 mm medium back; the 6006 has a 585 mm high back that carries the shoulders. Both are fully upholstered and share the same seat, base, mechanism and adjustments. The 6006 weighs 2 kg more and is the only one of the two that can reach EN 1335 class Ax.

Can I add a headrest to the 6006 later?

Yes. The headrest is a retrofittable option on the 6006, supplied in black or silver, and it shares its cover part with the HÅG Capisco. The only Creed with no headrest option at all is the 6002, and no ESD chair can take one.

Is the 6006 too tall for me?

If you are much under about 1.70 m, a high back can push at the head rather than support the shoulders — the 6004 is often the better fit. Seat height is the other half of the question: the standard 150 mm gas lift gives 40–55 cm, which suits desks from roughly 68 to 80 cm.

Which gas lift should I order?

The standard 150 mm lift for an ordinary desk. The 200 mm lift (47.5–66 cm) for high or sit-stand desks used seated at their upper setting. The 265 mm lift for counter-height work, best ordered with glides and a HÅG FootRing. The lift is awkward to change afterwards, so decide at order time.

What is the maximum user weight?

110 kg unless otherwise stated. The figure comes from EN 1335, the European office-chair standard, which assumes eight hours of use a day.

Does the 6006 come assembled?

No — it arrives flat-packed and goes together in a few minutes without tools beyond what is in the box. Only the ESD versions ship fully assembled, and the 6006 has no ESD version.

Is the HÅG Creed the same as the HÅG H05?

It is the successor and a close relative. The Creed arrived in 2019 as a merger of the HÅG H04 (originally the Credo, 1984) and the H05. The lineage is visible on the parts list: the 6003 and 6005 still take the same replacement backrest covers as the H05 5300 and 5500.

HÅG Creed or HÅG Capisco?

The Creed if you want a conventional office chair that moves with you, a high back, or a chair shared between several people. The Capisco if you sit astride it and keep changing position, or work at a raised surface. Both are Peter Opsvik designs and they share the headrest cover.
