Which gas lift height should I choose for my HAG Capisco?
You can choose from low (150 mm), standard (200 mm), and high (265 mm) gas lifts. The low gas lift is ideal for those under 160 cm, the standard for 160–185 cm, and the high for those over 185 cm.
Gas lift | Seat Height |
Low gas lift: 150 mm | 408 - 540 mm |
Standard gas lift: 200 mm | 470 - 655 mm |
High gaslift: 265 mm | 530 - 790 mm |
Can I change the gas lift on my Capisco chair?
Yes, you can! You can purchase a new gas lift here and replace your current one with a different height option. We strongly recommend using our unblocking tool to make the process easier and ensure a smooth replacement.
Can I combine a HAG Step-Up with a foot ring?
Yes, this is possible but uncommon. See an example here.
What should I do if the height of my HÅG Capisco chair can no longer be adjusted?
If you're unable to adjust the chair height, the issue likely lies with the gas lift:
- If under 10 years old: It’s likely under warranty. Contact your original retailer for assistance.
- If over 10 years old: You may need to purchase a new gas lift. Use an unblocking tool when replacing it.
The backrest of my Capisco wobbles. Is this normal?
Yes, it's normal for the backrest of a Capisco chair to have some lateral movement or wobble.
Is it possible to lock the chair in its neutral position?
With the new seating mechanism, it's not possible to lock the chair in its fully upright, neutral position. You need to lean slightly backward to engage the lock. However, if you prefer a feeling of stability in the neutral position, you can adjust the resistance using the knob under the seat. Setting the resistance to maximum will give the impression that the chair is almost locked.
Please note that we recommend keeping the resistance at a lower level to encourage natural movement and flexibility while seated.
How does the new tilt mechanism work?
February 2024 - Introduction of the New HAG Capisco Mechanism
The mechanism of the HÅG Capisco chair has recently been updated to comply with the latest EN 1335-A/2020 standards. This update includes a small lever that allows users to adjust the forward tilt of the seat from the previous -1.6° to -3°. This adjustment was made to meet corporate requests requiring compliance with specific EN standards.
The chair maintains its classic functionality while incorporating an additional adjustment option for the forward tilt.
While the original HAG Capisco could be locked in almost a horizontal tilt, the updated version requires a slight backward tilt due to the internal mechanics of the new design.
Users who prefer less movement are advised to adjust the tilt resistance of the chair using the knob located under the seat.
