HÅG Creed

Six task models, one chassis, one decision.

Every HÅG Creed shares the same seat, the same aluminium base and the same inBalance® mechanism. What changes down the range is how much back you get and how it is covered — and that turns out to be the whole decision. Here is all six, compared on the dimensions, options, fabrics and part numbers Flokk actually publishes.

  • Peter OpsvikDesigned in Norway, launched 2019

  • 10 yearsWarranty, and spare parts

The range

Six task models and one meeting chair

Pick by backrest height first, then by how the back is covered. Everything else — seat, Ø730 mm base, HÅG inBalance® mechanism, 40–55 cm seat height — is identical across the range.

  • HÅG Creed 6002 in Capture Light beige with a white aluminium base

    Low back · fully upholstered

    Creed 6002

    455 mm back · 13.5 kg

The lightest Creed in the range. A back that stays below the shoulder blades — right for compact desks, shared benches and anyone who finds a tall back visually heavy.

  • HÅG Creed 6003 in Cura Loop Blue with a black base

    Medium back · partly upholstered

    Creed 6003

    475 mm back · 16.5 kg

The value entry into the range. Same 4-in-1 adjustment as every other Creed; the outer back shell is left exposed instead of covered, which also makes it the coolest to sit in on a warm day.

    Configure the 6003 →
  • HÅG Creed 6004 in Capture Dark grey with a polished aluminium base

    Medium back · fully upholstered

    Creed 6004

    510 mm back · 17 kg

The all-rounder, and the model Flokk uses as the reference for the range's environmental figures. Supports to mid-shoulder. If you are not sure, this is the one.

  • HÅG Creed 6005 in Capture Green-grey with a Moss Grey base

    High back · partly upholstered

    Creed 6005

    555 mm back · 18.5 kg

Full shoulder height without the price of full upholstery. The exposed shell keeps the weight and the heat down on a back this size.

  • HÅG Creed 6006 in Capture Ochre with a black base

    High back · fully upholstered

    Creed 6006

    585 mm back · 19 kg

The one most people picture when they say “Creed”. Fully covered, and the only model in the range that also carries EN 1335 Class Ax when specified with the SHORT seat and 3D armrest tops.

  • HÅG Creed 6056 in Elmosoft Cognac leather with a polished aluminium base

High back · extra comfort layer

    Creed 6056

    590 mm back · 19.5 kg

The softest Creed. An additional foam layer and a 10 mm wider seat, for people who sit long days and want to feel the chair give.

The HÅG Creed Communication 6172 — a fully upholstered medium-back meeting chair on the same Ø730 mm base, with an extra-thick seat, a gentler 9° / 13° tilt and glides instead of castors — is available to order separately.

Identical on every model: 40–55 cm seat height on the standard 150 mm gas lift, adjustable seat depth from the 4-in-1 wheel, Ø730 mm five-star aluminium base, 15° forward / 16° backward tilt lockable in three positions, 110 kg maximum user weight.

HÅG Creed 6003 seen from the front and from behind: the front is upholstered in grey fabric while the rear is the bare perforated moulded shell, which is what partly upholstered means
HÅG Creed 6003, front and rear, in grey Cura Loop.

What “partly upholstered” actually means

It is the one difference you cannot see from the front. On the 6003 and 6005, the surface you sit against is upholstered exactly as on every other Creed — but the outer shell of the backrest is left as a moulded, ribbed surface instead of being covered in fabric.

What you gain: a lower price, less weight, and noticeably better airflow through the back on a warm day. What you give up is the appearance from behind — which matters if the chair sits with its back to the room, and matters not at all if it faces a wall.

On the 6002, 6004, 6006 and 6056 that rear shell is covered in the same fabric as the rest of the chair.

Choosing by height

Backrest height is about where support ends on your back, not about status. The low-back 6002 stops below the shoulder blades. The medium backs (6003, 6004) reach mid-shoulder and suit most people of average height at a desk. The high backs (6005, 6006, 6056) carry the shoulders and, with the headrest fitted, the neck — which is what taller users and anyone leaning back to think or take calls actually needs.

If you are under about 1.70 m, a high back can push against the head rather than support the shoulders. Order the SHORT seat (40 cm instead of the standard 39–49 cm range) on the 6002, 6004 or 6006 at no extra cost if the seat front presses behind your knees.

Choosing by how long you sit

Flokk's ten-year warranty assumes normal use up to nine hours a day. Beyond nine hours, or on a 24/7 shift desk, the warranty becomes five years and the fabric has to come from the approved list — say so when you order and we will specify it correctly.

For long days the 6056 is the one worth the step up: the extra comfort layer is real, not marketing, and it is the only Creed with a wider 450 mm seat. For shorter sessions and hot-desking, the partly upholstered 6003 and 6005 breathe noticeably better.

How it works

What makes a Creed a Creed

Three mechanical ideas, all of them Opsvik's, and none of them about locking you into a posture.

HÅG inBalance® — movement, not position

The pivot sits under the middle of the seat rather than at the front edge, so the chair tips 15° forward and 16° backward around you as you move. It follows small shifts of weight, which is the point: your legs keep working, circulation keeps going, and you are not braced against a fixed backrest for eight hours. It locks in three positions if you want it still.

The 4-in-1 adjustment wheel

One wheel, reachable while seated, sets seat depth, backrest height and forward and backward tilt resistance together. Each can also be set on its own. It is the reason a Creed can be handed to a new person and set up in under a minute rather than requiring a five-lever briefing.

HÅG SwingBack® armrests

An option on the standard height- and width-adjustable armrests: they swing back and round behind the backrest, so you can pull right in to the desk edge, get in and out sideways, or sit turned towards a colleague.

A chair with a forty-year run-up

HÅG Credo — later renamed H04 — launched in 1984 and became Scandinavia's best-selling task chair. It was the first office chair to take tilting forward seriously. The Creed arrived in 2019 as the merger of the H04 and the later H05.

That lineage is not a story: it is in the parts list. The replacement backrest cover for the Creed 6003 is part 108528 — the same part number as the old HÅG H05 5300. The 6005's cover, 108529, is the H05 5500's. Flokk kept the shells.

Specifications

Dimensions, gas lifts and certification

Seat height depends entirely on which gas lift you order, and the gas lift is the one thing that is awkward to change your mind about later.

Gas lift options and resulting seat height
Gas lift Seat height Use it for
150 mm standard 40–55 cm Desks 68–80 cm. The right lift for almost everyone.
200 mm 47.5–66 cm High desks and sit-stand desks used seated at height.
265 mm Counter height Benches, labs, reception. Order with glides and the HÅG FootRing.

The HÅG FootRing must be ordered together with a 200 mm or 265 mm gas lift — it cannot be added to a chair on the standard 150 mm lift.

Shared specifications

  • Seat height 40–55 cm on the standard 150 mm gas lift
  • Seat depth adjustable over 39–49 cm, or a fixed 40 cm SHORT seat
  • Seat width 44 cm — 45 cm on the 6056
  • Five-star aluminium base, Ø730 mm, with shaped footplates
  • Tilt 15° forward / 16° back, lockable in three positions
  • Maximum user weight 110 kg

Standards and certification

  • EN 1335 Type A — the European standard for office-chair dimensions and safety. Applies to the task models with the 150 mm gas lift.
  • EN 1335 Class Ax — the 6006 only, and only when specified with the SHORT seat and 3D-top armrests together. A standard 6006 is not Class Ax.
  • NPR 1813-2016 — the Dutch practical guideline, which Dutch employers and occupational-health services regularly ask for. Task models only.
  • GS mark (Geprüfte Sicherheit), issued after testing by LGA / Intertek in Germany.
  • GREENGUARD Gold and Möbelfakta for indoor emissions and furniture quality.

Maximum user weight is 110 kg unless otherwise specified, in line with EN 1335, which is based on eight hours of daily use.

Materials

Choosing your fabric or leather

Flokk prices upholstery in seven groups. The group you pick moves the price of the chair more than any other single choice, so it is worth understanding what you are buying.

The fabric is the chair you touch

Everything structural on a Creed is the same whichever model you choose. The upholstery is the part that changes how the chair feels under your hands and how it ages, and it is the part you will look at every day.

Groups 1 and 2 cover the recycled polyesters and the New Zealand wools that most offices order. Groups 3 and 4 add texture and depth — tweed-like Capture, Norwegian Sirdal. Groups 6 and 7 are the chrome-free semi-aniline leathers.

We send free samples before you decide. Ask for a set and we will post whichever groups you are weighing up.

Standard collection upholstery for the HÅG Creed
Fabric Group Composition Abrasion Character
Xtreme Camira 1 100% post-consumer recycled polyester >100,000 The workhorse. Crepe texture, extremely fire-resistant, washable at 60°C.
Cura Loop Gabriel 1 100% post-consumer recycled polyester 100,000 Two-tone, soft and voluminous, matt with a lively fleck.
Select Gabriel 2 85% New Zealand wool, 15% polyamide 200,000 The classic wool. Tight relief weave, soft, deep colour. The safe upgrade.
Capture Gabriel 3 85% New Zealand wool, 15% polyamide 200,000 Lightly felted and multi-coloured, tweed-like. Hides everyday marks well.
Sirdal GU 4 100% Norwegian wool 56,000 Woven in Norway. Rich, textured, authentic — the least corporate option.
Paloma Soft Wollsdorf 6 Semi-aniline leather — Chrome-free, organically tanned. Natural marks are part of it.
Elmosoft Elmo 7 Semi-aniline Scandinavian leather — 1.1–1.3 mm, chrome-free, tanned in Sweden with clean-water technology.

Also available on the Creed: Main Line Flax, Oceanic, Parcel Loop, Technicolour, Synergy, Note (group 3); Illusion 3.0, Steelcut 3 and Steelcut Trio 3 (group 4); plus the full Extended collection on longer lead times. See the complete fabric overview.

Cleanable and healthcare upholstery

For clinical settings, PUxx 1 (group 3) and Illusion 3.0 (group 4) are polyurethane-coated, wipeable and can be disinfected with alcohol, chlorine or hydrogen peroxide solutions. Both carry a five-year rather than ten-year fabric warranty.

Portrait of the Norwegian designer Peter Opsvik

The designer

Peter Opsvik

Opsvik has spent fifty years arguing one idea: that the healthiest sitting position is the next one. The Tripp Trapp children's chair, the Capisco saddle chair and the Balans kneeling chairs are all his, and all of them refuse to hold the body still.

The Creed is the quietest expression of that argument. It looks like a conventional office chair — which is the point, because it has to work in rooms where a saddle chair would not — and then moves under you in a way a conventional office chair does not.

Also by Opsvik, and also available here: the HÅG Capisco and Capisco Puls.

Environment

Sustainability, in numbers

An independently verified Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is published for the Creed, and you can find it in the downloads for each model. These are its headline indicators, measured on the 6004.

The Creed is built at Flokk's factory in Røros, Norway, in a plant certified to ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. The HÅG Creed task models carry the EU Ecolabel, alongside GREENGUARD Gold for indoor emissions and Swedish Möbelfakta certification. Ecolabel cover depends on the configuration and the fabric chosen — if you need the certificate for a tender, tell us and we will confirm it against your specification.

The part that matters most for the footprint is not on the certificate: the chair is designed to come apart without special tools, every cover is replaceable, and Flokk commits to supplying spare parts for at least ten years after the production date. A chair you re-cover twice is a much better environmental outcome than a chair you replace.

Ownership

Warranty, covers and spare parts

The warranty

  • 10 years on the chair and its accessories, for normal use up to nine hours a day.
  • 5 years for use beyond nine hours a day.
  • 5 years for 24/7 use, provided the upholstery is from the approved 24/7 list.
  • 10 years on standard-collection fabrics and leathers, except the polyurethane-coated ones (five years).

The warranty covers parts against material and manufacturing faults. Labour and call-out are charged. Normal wear, and wear or staining on white metal, white plastic and white textile or leather, are excluded. Using non-original parts voids it. Full terms on our warranty page.

Covers and parts you can actually order

Ordering

Lead times and Quick-Ship

A HÅG Creed is built to your specification after you order, so the fabric you choose sets the lead time:

  • HÅG Quick-Ship — 15 working days. Models 6002 to 6006 and the Creed headrest, in selected Xtreme, Select and Paloma colours.
  • Standard collection — 20–25 working days.
  • Extended collection — 35 working days or more, subject to the mill holding the fabric.

These are indicative delivery times including transport. Quick-Ship orders cannot be changed or cancelled once submitted.

Chairs arrive flat-packed and unassembled; assembly is straightforward and takes a few minutes — see the HÅG Creed assembly instructions. ESD versions are delivered fully assembled.

If you need a specific delivery date, a large quantity, or a specification that is not in the configurator, ask us for a quote — we handle the specification against Flokk's order requirements so the chair arrives right. For volume orders see business clients.

Questions

HÅG Creed — frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the HÅG Creed 6004 and the 6006?

Backrest height, and nothing else that matters. The 6004 has a 510 mm medium back; the 6006 has a 585 mm high back that supports the shoulders. Both are fully upholstered, both use the same seat, base, mechanism and adjustment. The 6006 weighs 2 kg more and is the only model that can reach EN 1335 Class Ax.

What does “partly upholstered” mean on the 6003 and 6005?

The outer shell of the backrest is left as a moulded surface instead of being covered in fabric. The part you sit against is upholstered exactly as on the other models. It costs less, weighs less, and breathes better — the trade-off is appearance from behind.

What is the maximum user weight for a HÅG Creed?

110 kg, unless otherwise specified. That figure comes from EN 1335, the European office-chair standard, which is based on eight hours of daily use.

Is the HÅG Creed the same as the HÅG H05?

It is its successor, and closely related. The Creed launched in 2019 combining the HÅG H04 (originally the Credo, 1984) and the H05. The 6003 and 6005 still take the same replacement backrest covers as the H05 5300 and 5500.

Can I add a headrest or a foot ring later?

A headrest can be retrofitted on the 6003, 6004, 6005, 6006 and 6056; Flokk does not list one for the 6002. A foot ring cannot be added to a chair on the standard 150 mm gas lift — the HÅG FootRing must be ordered together with a 200 mm or 265 mm lift, so decide on the lift when you order.

Which gas lift do I need?

The standard 150 mm lift gives 40–55 cm seat height and suits desks from roughly 68 to 80 cm. The 200 mm lift gives 47.5–66 cm for high or sit-stand desks. The 265 mm lift is for counter-height work and should be ordered with glides and the FootRing.

How long is the warranty on a HÅG Creed?

Ten years on the chair and its accessories for normal use up to nine hours a day. Five years for use beyond nine hours a day, and five years for 24/7 use with approved upholstery. Flokk supplies spare parts for at least ten years after the production date.

Does the HÅG Creed come assembled?

No — it ships flat-packed and takes a few minutes to put together. The exception is the ESD version, which is delivered fully assembled.

Is there an ESD version of the Creed?

Yes, on the 6002 and 6004 only, upholstered in antistatic synthetic leather or Camira Hi-Tech black. ESD chairs come in silver aluminium only, without headrest or armrests, and are delivered assembled.

HÅG Creed or HÅG Capisco?

Creed if you want a conventional task chair that moves with you, a high back, or a chair several people will share. Capisco if you perch, straddle and change posture constantly, or work at a raised desk. Both are Opsvik designs and share the headrest cover, part 108706.

Dimensions, certifications, part numbers and lead times on this page are taken from Flokk's HÅG factsheets and the HÅG Benelux price list valid from 1 July 2026. Environmental figures are the published EPD indicators for the HÅG Creed 6004. Specifications can change without notice; ask us to confirm before you order if a figure is critical to your decision.
