60% new wool, 20% nylon, 20% polyester
Gentle 2 is a stretch velvet upholstery textile by Febrik, known for its rich surface and elegant shine. Laminated onto 2 mm foam, it has a voluminous, luxurious feel that sets it apart from traditional velvets. Its excellent stretch and ability to hug curves make it ideal for organic shapes like Ekstrem™.


KNIT

90% wool, 10% polyester
Knit is a durable, resilient wool upholstery fabric custom-made for Ekstrem™ by Norwegian manufacturer Devold. Knitted from a single thread, it offers the elasticity needed for the chair’s organic form, while its soft, breathable surface features a timeless quadratic pattern.

Terje Ekstrøm

Terje Ekstrøm bridged craft and industry, bringing bold originality to 70s–80s Norwegian design. Trained in cabinetmaking and upholstery, he helped redefine Scandinavian design with a fresh, unconventional approach.

Materials

Ekstrem™ is an open framework constructed of fabric-covered foam over a steel frame. The chair consists of two identical mirror-facing steel frames which are covered by polyurethane foam. This provides a soft support layer covering all surfaces of the chair. The upholstery fabric is then manually fitted to the intricate cylinder forms. Finally, the two parts are carefully assembled together resulting in an extraordinarily eye-catching piece of furniture.

Warranty

This item was made to last. There is a 10-year guarantee against fabrication faults on wooden and polypropylene parts, and a 5-year guarantee against fabrication faults on mechanical parts.
